In Response to Shoshone Falls, 2012, 25’x25’x12,’ paper, Commissioned by the Sun Valley Arts Center, Ketchum, Idaho. Copyright: Striped Canary. Photo Credit: Striped Canary. In 2012, we re-focused on "letting the paper be paper." We set out to make a series of site-specific "drawings" using only paper (no armature). This work was made in response to an experience of visiting Shoshone Falls on the Snake River in Idaho. Geologists believe the Falls were formed from the outburst flooding of Lake Bonneville during the Pleistocene Period. Amazingly, the river and falls are virtually invisible from the highway, but absolutely enveloping as one descends into the gorge.
