We each separately hiked the Hoh River Trail on the Olympic Peninsula to have an individual experience of the same landscape. As it turned out, we each spent a few hours hiking at night, which became a touchstone experience. The resulting artwork was made on site in response to the gallery space as we compared notes on textures and forms from the multiple distinct ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest landscape.
